How iMRO Works

iMRO is built as an add-on to SAP's enterprise central component (ERP version 6.0). The next release, iMRO release 3, is compatible with SAP's enhancement pack 3 for ERP and the discrete industry solution add-on.

Unlike many other independent certified software add-ons, iMRO is built using SAP's NetWeaver development platform to SAP's internal development standards, including user interface, accessibility and back-end ERP integration standards - such as using SAP's enterprise service repository and business application programming interfaces.

This means that iMRO requires no additional hardware or software applications to install, maintain, upgrade etc. as it runs on the SAP server directly. Even iMRO's Java SAPGUI (jSAG) pages are managed within SAP's development environment.

As a result, users of SAP ERP will be able to seamlessly run iMRO transactions without logging onto a separate application, re-using their SAP user, authorizations, menus, navigation, Master_Template data, transactions data, business processes etc. Users will not even be aware when they are switching between SAP ERP screens and iMRO screens, apart if they can spot the user interface improvements in iMRO!
